The following Dharma Talks were delivered by Phra Ajhan Yantra Amaro of Thailand.
Sensual lust and unwholesomeness
Develop from our own thought and mental formation.
If we stop thinking, they'll cease to develop.
When heated passion rises,
Don't look outside.
Try to watch inside.
Defilements have a variety of seductive approaches.
So, we need to look inward ...
Look at the Citta.
When sensual lust rises, watch the Citta.
When anger rises, watch the Citta.
Subtly use mindfulness
To keep control of the present moment.
Use mindfulness as a controlling factor
By keeping a quiet watch of ourselves.
With the development of stability and equanimity,
Those feelings will diminish and fade away,
Because defilements are also mental formations.
See to it that they are gone, gone, gone.
A defilement rises and then is gone:
Rise and gone.
Fight Mara off this way.
The subtlety is in the use of Mindfulness and awareness.
